Playas De Fornells

This exclusive, private development is situated on the North Coast of Menorca, just 2km West of Fornells, the old fishing village famous for its fish restaurants. Small groups of apartments and 'garden villas' nestle into the side of a large, horseshoe-shaped bay, Cala Tirant.

At the foot of the bay is a fine sandy beach. Crystal clear and shallow waters allow for safe swimming; great for children of all ages. Most of the accommodation in the resort enjoys stunning views across the bay and out to sea.

Playas de Fornells is a self-contained resort with supermarkets, restaurants, shops and bars. The resort is divided into groups of apartments or garden villas, known as communities, each having their own identity.

The terrain at the resort is not flat - moderate slopes will be encountered when walking to and from the beach.

The nearest village to the resort is Fornells; an old and unspoilt fishing village with a picturesque natural harbour and a selection of excellent fish restaurants famous throughout Spain. King Juan Carlos often sails into Fornells harbour on his yacht and dines at one of the waterside restaurants.

In addition to the restaurants, there are a small selection of shops, a church, chemist and bank.

Fornells harbour is a large, naturally protected inlet, perfect for watersports. There is a sailing, windsurfing and diving school in Fornells. In addition, there is motor boat, water skiing, bicycle and kayak hire. Coastal excursions and fishing trips can also be arranged.

Fornells can be reached during daylight hours by means of a pleasant cliff walk, which takes about 25 minutes, although this is not recommended for the infirm. Walking via the road takes about 35 minutes, although we recommend cars or taxis during the hours of darkness, as there are no pavements or street lighting on the Fornells road. Taxis are readily available.

We have a number of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments with communal pools; some close to the beach and some with excellent sea views.
